We were already getting used to construction workers dying because they kept falling off these skyscrapers because the developers are too cheap to install proper safety measures, but the fine people behind Rivage Tower have come up with a new variant on the theme: Launch large pieces of metal on cars!
The authorities halted construction because the security measures were a total joke. Safety nets not strong enough or absent, or no safety precautions at all. The taxi driver died. It's a miracle that there's only one victim, given the fact that this happened right in front of the busy Restaurant Boulevard.
This is supposedly a high-end condo project with apartments selling for about $350k, and this flim flam developer can't even provide security?
