Torrijos, the National Coward
By The Boss on Mar 28, 2008 | In Politics | 2 feedbacks »

Torrijos postponed a decision about what to do about public transport. Torrijos says his government stole all the money doesn't have any money to improve the bus system. Torrijos shits his pants for the group of road terrorists who own the buses and will kill for money. The united passengers are angry about it. La Prensa basically calls him a moron.
They're right, of course, but what did they expect from a man who is too much of a coward to investigate the death of his own father?

Proposing a metro or a train is simply ludicrous, as simply the studies needed take 5 years. What Panama needs is an immediate solution, which is simply removing the monopolistic and free-market run "Diablos Rojos", and replacing them with new, A/Ced, government subsidized buses.
The train will only serve a fraction of the population - what will those who do not live close to the line do to the stations? Use Diablos Rojos?
What's more, obviously foreign studies will advise on a train system, blind to the problems in the streets, simply because it's the most profitable. Why sell a basic product when you can flog a full-spec one?
I really wish this government would grow a brain and some balls
