Petaquilla Stock Now Affordable to the Poor
By The Boss on Jun 15, 2008 | In Business | 1 feedback »
Some people say that Petaquilla Minerals, famously known for its Petaquilla mining project in Panama, is a bad company that destroys the environment, chases indigenous tribes off their ancestral lands and violates human rights. A sort of a modern day United Fruit.

Indigenous workers carry boxes with
stock certificates which Petaqilla
is dumping.
But these critics forget something. Thanks to the great policies, or better: the intellectual spirit of CEO Richard Fifer Carles, famously known for his history of embezzlement of public funds when he was governor of Coclé, even those poor indigenous tribes can now afford to be co-owner of this robber baron's dream!
Petaquilla stock prices have been steadily sinking through the floor since, well, Don Winner started pumping them, really. But after pumping comes dumping, and last week, the share price hit an all time low of just $1.59, and the Bananama Republic outlook for Petaquilla predicts that it will quickly join the wonderful world of worthless penny stock.
UPDATE: As we predicted! Closing on June 20 at $1.49.

history has not been kind to foreign enterprises that have sought to exploit the natural resources of central america. and, the common people that face exploitation are now more empowered than ever to protect what they have.
we'll find out if this mining company ever turns a profit or not. my guess is that they're in way over their heads in panama.
