Chileans Don't Buy Torrijos Helicopter Crap

Omar Torrijos continues to be a source of inspiration for our rogue leaders. Martin recalls on every possible occasion how painful it was when Omar's plane fell out of the sky. The implicit message is of course that since Martin never even had the balls to investigate the death of his own father, these pesky Chileans better forget completely about any serious investigation into that helicopter crash. Meanwhile, the media in Panama are just repeating the spin disseminated by Torrijos and Delgado Diamante.
Ha! But not the Chileans. El Mercurio talked to the ex-director of the Servicio Aéreo Nacional (SAN), Encarnación Chavarría, and he said that they NEVER had the budget needed to maintain the helicopters properly and getting spare parts was very difficult. Which is of course an obvious truth if you look at how Panama maintains its flying and driving fleets.
Two Chilean legislators, Maximiano Errázuriz and Roberto Sepúlveda, have announced legal action against Panama. They don't believe that a spare part that was urgently needed was in fact only ordered to be kept in stock, which is the version Torrijos and Delgado Diamante are currently trying to sell.
