Once upon a time, the good people of the far and cold Kingdom of the Netherlands were glued to their TV screens and ran for the morning papers to get the latest on the spectacular kidnapping of Freddie Heineken, the beer tycoon. The kidnappers were caught, some of the ransom money found, and Heineken and his driver unharmed.
Most of the kidnappers continued their criminal careers once released. Money was invested in the Amsterdam Red Light District, one kidnapper was shot and, it turns out, his half brother Martin Erkamps, also one of the kidnappers, lives and works in Panama! Writes La Prensa:
Erkamps was sentenced to eight years in prison for the abduction of beer magnate Freddy Heineken in 1983. He served his sentence and moved to Panama in 2007 to work in the real estate business.
Then they sum up how Erkamps has landed in all sorts of legal trouble surrounding his real estate development near Los Santos. Fraud complaints, sale of land may have been illegal. Add to that that he has now a problem with immigration as well.
What La Prensa didn't know is that Erkamps was arrested again in Spain in 1996 driving a car full of drugs, part of a convoy that was heading for Holland.
