Don Winner dreams about a life under threat

donwinnerfriesnerboatLet's say you don't like Panama. You think it's a third world shithole where nothing works and which is a magnet for low life and scum. You want to leave, find a normal place to spend your time. Wouldn't such be totally consistent with trying to sell your property? You sell your house and you leave, right?

Right. To anyone with dos dedos de frente this makes perfect sense. But not to scam pimp and terrorist PR flack Don Winner, of course. To him, disliking Panama and selling your property so you can leave are two completely contradictory things. Unless of course you sell your property through him, in which case we suppose all would be fine.

So there was this Canadian here, one Niels Hartvig-Nielsen, to whom the above applies. He hated Panama and he got rid of his property here and left. This then, was against the will of the Supreme Wanker, who wrote a lengthy diatribe about how bad Nielsen's behavior was.

And now it seems that things have heated up a bit on the interwebs, and Nielsen posted Don Winner's home address on one of those forums where expats waste their time in between drinks. This then prompted Winner to declare DEFCON 1, threat level red and what else have you:

"I take this as a direct threat against myself and my family. I am responding by reporting this Internet activity to both the authorities at the US Embassy, the Canadian Embassy in Panama because Niels Hartvig-Nielsen is a Canadian citizen, as well as the Panamanian law enforcement and judicial authorities. This is not the first time I've received death threats and I know exactly how to respond. Niels Hartvig-Nielsen is just another tiny little man with no honor or morals or values, who wanted to elicit a response from me. Taken out of context, he just posted my home address. Taken in context, it's a death threat. He's hoping someone will be mad enough or crazy enough to take action against me or my family."

SOUTHCOM, Don, you forgot to alert SOUTHCOM.

You see, Don Winner is so extremely well informed that he doesn't know that, even if there was a death threat made, it's the kind of thing that a corregidor handles and it won't get beyond that unless something real happens. Real, as in, not just inside Winners whining wanker-head. No embassy is gonna act upon Winner's wild fantasies. The police will just file his drivel in the circular archives and realize how right they were when they told this gringo knucklehead to stay away from their investigations.

And let's not forget that this yammering about "death threats" comes from the same coward little punk who once showed up at your editor's house, took pictures and harassed wife and two daughters, threatened me with a stun gun and then tried to escape when he realized the police was on his way to get him.  And why did he do that? Because, he later said, he needed "proof" of my home address. Goose, gander.....

INSTANT UPDATE: Some people may have ideas about whacking the wanker. But even though there is no denying that this would instantly improve air quality in Panama City and the country as a whole, please don't do it. It's much more fun to watch him alive, struggling in agony to keep his grasp on reality and fight off the demons in his head and the giant bats circling his house.

  1. The unconfirmed rumor is that the National Police have told Winner to stay away. He made an absolute ass of himself last year trying to manipulate the American ambassador’s town hall meeting and surely does not get taken seriously there. And then, if you know anything about Canadian nationalism he’s the poster boy for that basic tenet of Canadiana: “The Americans are OK as neighbors, but you know they’re crazy, eh?”

Why not to the police, or the corregidor? I think it probably would have something to do with the probability that he would be arrested for filing a false police report.

      • He organized a posse for the meeting and advised them of their talking points, then showed up with his video camera and stomped off swearing when they told him he couldn’t bring the video camera in. Then he wrote a creepy article about it, which he pulled down but might be cached somewhere.

He was trying to organize one of those teabagger “angry expats shout down Obama’s ambassador” videos to sell to the ultra-right press in the States, and Farrar wouldn’t let him.

        • Ah, yes, I remember he threw a tantrum when they wouldn’t let him in. Didn’t know he’d placed a few ringers. Donny tends to come unglued whenever his delusions of importance are punctured and he doesn’t get to pretend he’s a big-shot (**cough**) “journalist.” I almost, but not quite, feel sorry for the guy. It must be hell knowing everyone thinks you’re just a double-chinned douchebag who can’t even earn enough money to take his family on a three-day vacation.

  2. I second the motion to NOT whack the wanker. Nowhere will anybody find such a one man circus and all the free entertainment it provides. To live happily in Panama a person needs to enjoy a little craziness. Not heavy-duty Columbine like craziness that happens in the US (the US always produces economies of scale) but the local locura that insures that there is never a dull day here. Winner pushes the limits but he is an honorary Panamanian all the way!

  3. What a fuckin’ crybaby. Looks like he’s trying to sell his boat…for more than it’s worth. And not a very good salesman at that. You never post a firm, absolute price if you want to sell anything. Maybe he’d trade for an AR and ammo of lesser value at this point.

  4. I third the motion. Heaven forbid anyone would do away with our resident “village idiot”! The Don should live to a ripe old age of 110 due to his entertainment value alone.

  5. I’m not so sure the Wanker is not breaking real estate broker licensing laws with his claim that he gets “a percentage of the commission” when the property sells. That links him to “the sale” more so than a straight fee for his advertising the listing would. They’ll probably let him slide for such a thing in central america, but he’d definitely get shut down in the USA. He’s bringing in buyers for percent commissions after the sale. That is real estate sales by definition and links him to the sale as far as any liability claims would go.

  6. @Isaac,

The risk of selling real estate without a license in Panama is that there is no way to enforce payment of the commission.

  7. The property sold a long time ago folks. Don Winner was wrong about the location the price, and the fact that it would not sell.

I had promised to list it with someone else and he just did not like the fact that I refused to pay him to do it.

But his unprofessionalism did cost me. I even have a letter from a guy who backed out of the deal because of what he wrote. The guy did me the courtesy of telling me why at least. He was a nervous guy who just did not want any hassles and Don Winners article spooked him.

He also constructed most of the new story as well. Attributing nasty quotes to me that were actually made by others on the forum etc. Makingme look real bad and like some kind of racial bigot which is quite funny when you know me , as I come from a mixed race relgious family.

The man is seriously mentally ill saying I made death threats against him. I am a very non violent person and certainly do not think someone should die for this pile of crap. Far less his wife and children who are more than likely more innocent victims of his bullying.

    • WHAT?!?!?!?! You give him “seriously mentally ill” credentials?

No way! He ain’t done enough drugs to meet the standard. No way do us raving lunatics let riff-raff like that into the club!

Being a vicious prick does not qualify. Nor does having a lower order sense of ethics that pond scum. Invented stories like the death threats and Georgia Tripp’s death by strangulation are just banal ego trips — you need MUCH weirder fantasies to be accepted by the true maniacs.

    • I have to side with Eric on this. No insanity plea for the Wanker. Goebbels, Julius Streicher and J.J. Rendón are not insane or sick; they’re evil.

  8. A question to the bananamarepublic community:
Why does nearly nobody comment on the wanker’s stories but everyone voices their comments on bananamarepublic’s stories?

  9. Well here is what I wrote on Panama Forum ;

I managed to find these for the purpose of serving court documents.
Not sure if anyone has any other addreses to add but is always appreciated.

Does anyone have his wifes business address ?

Don Winner’s office address as he lists it on his invoices:

    http://www.panama-guide.com/, Inc.
Calle D, Edif 17, El Cangrejo
    Panama City, Republic of Panama

    And his home address:
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Sound like a death threat to you ?

I was not even certain this was his home address until he confirmed it.

And then in his response, as noted here, He says it IS a death threat becuase I am hoping someone will be mad enough or crazy enough to take action against him or his family.”

Well why would they do that ? And what would I have to do with that ? Clearly if it is “not the first time (he has) received death threats” Then the threat already existed. Long before my email.

And in terms of posting his addresses, well, that is exactly what he did in his article on me going so far as to publish my picture and company information.

    • I blanked out the home address in your comment. I don’t think that publishing it equals a death threat, but that doesn’t mean that I think it’s something I want on my website. I certainly don’t appreciate it if anyone publishes or goes after my home address, and I’ve made it a habit to keep such things off-limits, even if it concerns an asshole such as Don Winner who has no qualms showing up at my home himself.

  10. I am wondering if there are other venues I can disuss this matter in since I am censored at Panama Forum and Panama Guide as well as all Don Winners private forum clubs. I just wish to make my opinion heard in as many places as possible. If anyone has any suggestions it is appreciated.

  11. @ Niels…I am truly sorry for your terrible experiences with Don Wannabe Crazy Winner. For those of us who have been following Erik and Okke (Damn, that sounds like one of those bad comedy acts from vaudeville) for a while, Don has been the source of amusement and anger. Mostly amusement as one watches him plagiarize the work of real journalists and call it his own. Okke and Erick don’t have to worry about that, because their journalism is too well fact-checked and, worse yet, left of center. If you don’t believe it, just let one of them land a good hard right to the jaw about Panama-Guide or its owner and watch the venom spew over the ether of the Internet. Erick and Okke won’t suggest it, but I will. You really ought to consider a case of calumnia y injuria against the Whiner. He has filed so damn many that the prosecutors all run when the see him coming or try and foist it off on the newest person in the office (because that person doesn’t know what’s about to hit them), so they may give a VERY sympathetic hearing to your complaint.

Guys, as a child of the ’60’s and the leader of the acid flashbacks, I third the motion that bars the Whiner as a member of the BatSh*t Crazy club. And since my drug, alcohol and general mental condition render me the Grand Poo-Bah of the BatSh*t Crazy club, I am forever vetoing the Whiner’s application for membership.
